Some Reactions With 6-Chloro-2-Methyl 3,1-Benzoxazin-4-One

Condensation of 3-amrao-6-chloro-2-methyI-4 (SH) quinazolinone with aldehydes, phthalic anhydrides, aryl-sulphonyl chlorides, alkyl isothiocyanates furnished the quinazolinone derivatives (IIIa,c) (IVa,b)t (Va,b) & (VIa,b) respectively. The 3-hydroxyquinazoIinone derivative (VII) was reacted with isothiocyanates to give (VIIIa-c) Fusion of 6-Chloro-2-methylbenzoxazinone (1) with some amino compounds yielded 3-arylquinazolinone derivatives (IXa-f). Also reaction of (I) with thiosemicarbazide, effected cyclocondensation to give the triazoloquinazoline (X). While reaction of 5-chloroanthranilic acid with isothiocyanates gave 2-thio-6-chloroquinazolinoncs (XIa-d).
