ABSTRACT:

Mixed ligand complexes of general formula (ML)2. H2BQ, where M = Li, Na or K, L = deprotonated salicylic acid, acetylsalicyilc acid or 2-hydroxy-3-napthoic acid; H2BQ = 2, 5-idhydroxybenzoquinone have been synthesized and characteriszed. The infrared studies indicate the presence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the complexes, whcih may be one of the factors for stabilizing them.
