ABSTRACT:

The structure of vanadium soaps (Laurate, Myristate, Palmitate & Stearate) in solid state was studies using infrared spectra. Infrared spectra tests show that the fatty acids exits with a demeric structure through hydrogen bonding between two molecules of fatty acids where as the soap exit in tetrameric form and metal-to-O-bond in metal soaps have an inonic character but the bonds not purely ionic.
