Synthesis and Screening of Substituted Benzoxazoles and Benzoxazolo Triazoles

Ortho amino phenol was treated with carbon disulfide in presence of alcohol and water to obtain 2-mercapto benzoxazole which was further treated with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of methanol to obtain 2-hydrazino benzoxazole. This compound was treated with, a) arylaldehydes to yield Schiff's bases. b) substituted aromatic carboxylic acids to obtain substituted benzoxazolo triazoles.
