Synthesis and Antimicrobial Study of Some New Azetidinones

Some new anils were synthesized in good yield from substituted 1,4 dihydro 2,6 dimethyl 3,5- diacetyl 4-phenyl pyridines and aromatic amines. Further these anils were converted into 2-azetidinones by the action of chloroacetyl chloride. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activity.
