A convenient synthesis of pyrimido pyarano quinolines starting from 2,4-dihydroxy quinoline and 1,3 diphenyl barbituric acid/ 1,3-diphenyl 2-thiobarbituric acid in 2% sodium hydroxide solution with vinyl acetate.
