ABSTRACT:

The reaction of 2-(o-Methoxy phenyl amino sulpho)-4-methoxy aniline (I) with different aromatic aldehydes yields substituted benzal-N-[2-o-methoxy phenyl amino sulpho]-4-methoxy aniline (II a-j). The products (II a-j) are further condensed with 2-mercapto ethanoic acid to afford 2-aryl-3-[2'-o-methoxy phenyl amino sulpho-4'-methoxy phenyl]-5H-4-thiazolidinones (IIIa-j)
