ABSTRACT:

The stability constants of ternary complexes of uranyl (II) with pyridoxine and bicarboxylic acids (Malic, Malonic, Tartaric and Oxalic) have been determined at 30°C and μ=0.1 (KNO3). Uranyl ion individually forms 1:1 and 1:2 complexes with all the ligands. The reduction of the complexes in each case is reversible and diffusion controlled. UO2 forms three mixed species viz. UO2 (bicarboxylate) (pyridoxinate), UO2 (pyridoxinate) (bicarboxylate)2 and UO2 (bicarboxylate)2 (pyridoxinate)
