ABSTRACT:

Mixed ligand complexes of a novel bidentate ligand, namely 2-amino-ethanoic acid (glycine) have been prepared with Sn(II0 and Pb (II) metal ions. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, IR and UV-VIS spectral studies. IR spectra indicate coordination of second ligand (glycine) through N-atom of NH2 group and O-atom of –COOH group with metal ion. It also suggests presence of hydrogen bonding, which is one of dominant for stabilizing these complexes.
