ABSTRACT:

2-Amino-4-phenyl thiazole was condensed with newly synthesised ester which gave 2-(4-phenyl thiazole) carboxamido-p-chloro anilide (I). The prepared anilide was condensed to give 2-(4 phenyl thiazole) carboxamido-3-phenyl ethene-p-chloro anilide (II). The product on further condensation in alcoholic medium with hydrazine hydrate gave 2(4-phenyl thiazole) carboxamido-3-(p-chloro amino)-5 phenyl pyrazoline (III). The synthesis of copper complex with the above said ligand namely 2(4-phenyl thiazole) carboxamido-3-(p-chloro amino)-5 phenyl pyrazoline was carried out. The synthesised copper complex was then analysed for IR and anti-microbial activity. The test organisms employed were Staphylococus aureus, Salmonella typhosa, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Aspergillus niger.
