ABSTRACT:

4-Fluoro-3-chloro aniline treated with potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) in the presence of acetic acid and bromine were converted into 2-amine, 6-fluoro-7-chloro (1,3) benzothiazole which was further treated with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of ethylene glycol results 2-hydrazino-6-fluoro-7-chloro (1,3) benzothiazole. This compound was treated with a. Formamide in the presence of benzoyl chloride and potassium carbonate. b. Formamide in the presence of acetyl chloride and potassium carbonate. c. Formic acid and formamide refluxed for 3-4 hrs. to obtain 7-chloro-6-fluoro-2-benzyl hydrazino and 7-chloro-6-fluoro-2-N-ethanoyl hydrazino (1,3) benzothiazole. The above obtained compounds were cyclised with sulphuric acid (10%) and alcohol to get 8-fluoro-9-chloro (1,3) benzothiazolo (5,1-b)-1,2,4-triazole. The above said compound was treated with ortho, meta, para nitroanilines, ortho, meta para chloroanilines, morpholino, piperzine, diphenyl amine, in the presence of dimethyl formamide (DMF) to obtain different derivatives. Some of the compounds showed promising anti-inflammatory activity.
